The chief administrator of Greater Pibor, Gola Boyoi, inaugurated six newly constructed classrooms and a latrine at Pibor Girls Primary School in the Greater Pibor Administrative Area on Wednesday.
The facilities were constructed as part of efforts to improve the learning environment for pupils and teachers in the area.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Greater Pibor Information Minister Jacob Werchum Juok said the project was funded by the World Bank Group through the local government board and implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
“The construction of these classrooms will provide a safer and more suitable learning environment for our pupils and teachers,” he said.
The minister also said the newly constructed latrine would help improve sanitation, hygiene and health at the school.
The inauguration comes as communities in Greater Pibor continue to call for improved access to education infrastructure and other basic services.
