The Christian humanitarian organization, World Vision South Sudan, on Tuesday reported a disruption to its operations in Warrap State after former security guards blocked access to its offices and staff residences, citing grievances over alleged unpaid benefits.
In a statement, the organization said the individuals involved were previously deployed through DA Global Security Company, a contractor whose agreement with World Vision has since ended.
World Vision clarified that the guards were not its direct employees and that all contractual obligations to the security firm had been fulfilled, stressing that any outstanding salaries or benefits remain the responsibility of the company.
“The individuals are citing grievances over alleged unpaid benefits,” the agency said, adding that the situation has escalated into a recurring incident affecting its operations.
The organization warned that the blockade is already interfering with its ability to deliver humanitarian assistance to vulnerable communities in Warrap State.
“As access to our facilities remains blocked, critical support for vulnerable children and families in Warrap will likely be delayed at a time when needs are already severe,” the statement said.
Warrap State, like many parts of South Sudan, continues to face significant humanitarian challenges, with aid agencies playing a key role in providing essential services.
World Vision said it is working with authorities to resolve the situation and restore access to its facilities to prevent further disruption.
“We are working urgently with authorities to resolve the situation and prevent any interruption to life-saving assistance,” the organization said.
There was no immediate comment from the security company or the former guards at the time of publication.
