The Deputy Governor of Western Equatoria State (WES), Badagbu Daniel Rimbasa, has strongly condemned the recent surge of violence in Tambura County, describing the acts as barbaric and a grave threat to peace and stability in the region.
In a press statement issued in Yambio on Saturday, the deputy governor expressed deep concern over a series of tragic incidents, including the recent shooting at the residence of County Commissioner Mathew Mabenge.
“These heinous acts not only claim innocent lives but also undermine the ongoing implementation of the Peace Agreement and put the safety of our communities at risk,” said the deputy governor.
Badagbu Daniel Rimbasa appealed to the residents of Tambura County to remain calm and avoid retaliation or taking the law into their own hands. “We must unite to restore peace and stability. Let us work together to ensure justice is served,” he urged.
The state government is working in close coordination with security agencies to address the crisis, he said.
Deputy Governor Badagbu reassured the public of the government’s commitment to restoring law and order in Tambura County. “We will not tolerate such acts of violence. Together, we must uphold peace, security, and justice for the people of Tambura,” he concluded.
