Two people were killed and twenty others injured after the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) targeted several neighborhoods in the city of El Obeid in Sudan’s North Kordofan State with guided drones between dawn and midday on Sunday, the Sudan Doctors Network reported.
The attacks resulted in civilian casualties and caused damage to property and civilian infrastructure.
The Sudan Doctors Network said that targeting residential neighborhoods and civilian objects with guided drones represents a continuation of the repeated violations committed by the RSF against civilians.
“These actions endanger lives, exacerbate the humanitarian and health situation in the city, and violate international laws that prohibit such acts,” the network said.
The Sudan Doctors Network called upon the international community, as well as human rights and humanitarian organizations, to condemn these drone attacks on residential neighborhoods. It also urges the international community to exert pressure on the RSF leadership to cease targeting civilians and to take serious measures to ensure the protection of the population and civilian facilities.
