Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)-Holland handed over a newly built TB/HIV Outpatient Department (OPD) to Leer County Hospital in Unity State’s Leer County last week.
Speaking at the ceremony, Leer County Health Director Luny Dok Samuel Tet thanked MSF-Holland for its continued support in delivering healthcare services to the community.
He also thanked the National Ministry of Health and the Unity State Ministry of Health for supporting health projects that improve access to quality healthcare in Leer County.
“Today is a great day as we mark the opening and handover of the TB Department. I sincerely appreciate MSF for the excellent work they have done,” he said. “The Health Department will continue working closely with MSF to provide quality health services. I also thank the Ministry of Health for approving and supporting health projects in Leer County.”
For her part, Ms. Han Okiya, MSF Medical Team Leader, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to partnering with the health ministry to improve healthcare services in South Sudan.
She emphasized that collaboration remains key to improving the quality of healthcare delivered to communities.
“We cannot do this work alone. We always collaborate with the Ministry of Health to ensure we provide quality services,” she said. “There are many more areas where we can continue working together to improve healthcare for the community.”
