South Sudan’s Minister of Information and Communications, Michael Makuei, is in Qatar to explore areas of cooperation in the fields of communications and postal services.

Minister Makuei, who is leading a high-level delegation consisting of several officials and experts in the fields of communications and postal services, met with Qatar’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai met yesterday.

According to The Peninsula, one of the leading English dailies in Qatar, the visit of the high-level delegation from South Sudan aims to explore areas of cooperation and strengthen relations between the two countries, as well as discuss the possibility of exchanging experiences in a way that benefits both sides and contributes to achieving cooperation between the two countries.

It pointed out that the South Sudanese delegation praised the advanced technological infrastructure of Qatar and its role as a regional centre for communications and digital services.

“The delegation also expressed its keenness to benefit from Qatari experiences and expertise in the communications and IT sector,” it said.
