South Sudan President Salva Kiir on Monday evening relieved his private secretary.
In a decree broadcast on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Cooperation (SSBC), Kiir relieved Moses Rou Ayii, Private Secretary and Aide to the President, and appointed Akol Santo Arech in his place.
The changes come barely a month after President Salva Kiir relieved the former private secretary, Deng Bona Bang Dhel, and appointed Moses Rou Ayii in his place. Ayii’s removal in such a short span continues a pattern of rapid reshuffles within the presidency, where senior aides are frequently appointed and dismissed without explanation.
The recurring changes in the sensitive office have fueled speculation about internal power dynamics, loyalty concerns, and shifting political calculations within Kiir’s inner circle.
In another decree, Kiir relieved John Mading Bol, Deputy Commissioner General of the South Sudan Revenue Authority, and appointed his former private secretary, Moses Rou Ayii, as the new Deputy Commissioner General of the South Sudan Revenue Authority.
