A coalition of civil society groups, churches, and the University of Juba Center for Peace and Development has launched a campaign to monitor the peace agreement signed between South Sudan’s government and opposition.

Director of the South Sudanese Network for Democracy and Elections (SuNDE) Rajab Muhandes told Radio Tamazuj on Sunday that arrangements are underway to hold a workshop in mid-April to start monitoring the peace agreement.

He pointed out that the arrival of SPLM/IO troops to Juba will push for the formation of the transitional government but there are some provisions in the agreement that has not been implemented until now.

Muhandes said their participation in the monitoring of the peace agreement will be in collaboration with the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission.
