South Sudan’s foreign minister expected in Russia on Saturday

South Sudan’s Foreign Minister Barnaba Marial Benjamin is scheduled to arrive in Moscow the capital of Russia on Saturday.

The minister will hold talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov to discuss consolidation of relations between the two countries.

The spokesman of Foreign Affairs Ministry Mayuen Makol confirmed the visit, saying it comes after an invitation by the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Thursday, Makol stated the meeting will discuss the bilateral relations between the two countries besides briefing the Russian government on the current political turmoil in the country.

The ambassador said that Marial also plans to visit Khartoum after his trip to Moscow.
