The Jonglei State Ministry of Labor, Public Service, and Human Resource Development on Tuesday received a donation of two desktop computers and one printer from Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).
The equipment is to support the generation and management of official documents, as well as other information and communication technology (ICT) functions within the ministry.
According to the ministry, solar panels will soon be delivered to the state to help provide a reliable power supply for the equipment.
Speaking during the handover, the ministry’s Director General, Deng Kuir Bul, expressed appreciation to MSF for supporting the ministry with the ICT equipment.
“We are very grateful to MSF for this timely support. These computers and the printer will greatly strengthen the capacity of our ministry and improve the way we deliver services to the people of Jonglei State,” he said. “We appreciate MSF for standing with us and responding to some of the challenges we face in our daily operations. The equipment will help us carry out our work more efficiently, especially in typing, printing, and keeping official records.”
“Previously, limited ICT resources affected our productivity, but these computers and the printer will make our work easier and faster. We are also encouraged by the information that solar panels will soon be delivered to ensure a reliable power supply for the equipment,” Kuir added.
The official noted that this is not the first time the ministry has received support from MSF, saying that in 2024 the organization donated two desktop computers to the ministry.
Kuir urged other humanitarian organizations and development partners operating in Jonglei State to extend similar support to the labor ministry to strengthen service delivery and improve working conditions.
MSF continues to support various institutions in Jonglei State through humanitarian and capacity-building initiatives aimed at improving public services and community welfare.
