Malaria cases are increasing among children and women in Aweil East County, said County Commissioner Kiir Awet.

Awet told Radio Tamazuj Monday that there is an acute shortage of medicine and trained health workers in the county and that the rainy season has exacerbated the spread of malaria.

He said that besides the lack of medical staff and supplies, patients in remote payams are struggling to access health care centers in the county headquarters due to poor roads.
