President Salva Kiir on Friday evening revoked the appointment of 10 parliamentarians in both the Council of State and the Transitional National Legislative Assembly and named their replacements.
A decree read on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Cooperation (SSBC) affected only members of the other political parties, including Joseph Wol Modesto, the Secretary General of the Communist Party of South Sudan.
In the Upper House of Parliament, that is the Council of States, Kiir revoked the appointments of Ajuet Mun Rihan Mawir from the Democratic Change Party (DC), Joseph Wol Modesto (Communist Party of South Sudan under the Other Political Parties (OPP), Sarah Nene Redento (OPP) Simon Majak Deng (OPP).
The four lawmakers were replaced by; John Thon Kwac Chol (DC), Richard Omwony Valent Langoya (OPP), Editha Meling Leju Kenyi (OPP) and Peter Marial Deng (OPP).
In the Transitional National Legislative Assembly, Kiir revoked the appointments of Johnson Olami Nyikwac (DC), Samuel Aban Achien (DC), Joseph Ojuku Ikarak (USAP), Nyarwach Pal Gai, (USAP), William Gabing Galamo (OPP), and Yor Okuc Malual (OPP)
He replaced them with; Yuhanis Amum Nyiker (DC), Paul Kimo Adoltung (DC), Julia Benjamin Serjiomina (USAP) and Koch Isaac Chol (USAP).
Ajuet Mun Rehan Mawir replaced the late Mayom Kuoch Nyuol Malek (DC), Hellen Alor Balabek Biong, replaced the late William Mark Faki (OPP), George Sabastino Akot Ring (OPP) and Aligo Ajang Akon, replaced the late Debora Udel Akec (OPP) and Odong Ngor Anyang (OPP) respectively.
