Police in Wau town of Western Bahr el Ghazal State are investigating after a decomposing body of a 50-year-old woman was found dumped in a residential area.
On Wednesday, police authorities, after a report from the residents, discovered the dead body of an unidentified woman dumped near a wall in the Nazareth area.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, the state police commissioner Major General James Simon Yisa, said police had launched investigations into the incident, adding that the investigations will include an incident in which an elderly man was killed in a car accident at Jebel Kher area.
“On the case of the dead body found, a case has been opened in Wau town under Article 59 of the South Sudan Penal Code for investigation against those who were closed to the scene,” Simon said.
No arrests have been made so far.
