One government soldier was killed and four others injured when a government convoy came under attack in Amadi State on Monday.
Amadi state deputy governor Manase Deboi, leading the convoy narrowly survived the ambush allegedly by rebels operating along the Amadi-Jambo road.
Deboi told Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday that he was on a mission to investigate a report that a Kenyan truck driver was captured by a group of rebels loyal to National Salvation Front under Thomas Cirillo in Duru area.
Deboi added that the security situation in the state remains volatile, with numerous rebel confrontations.
