11 injured in ambulance taxi crash in South Sudan

At least 11 passengers were critically injured in a traffic accident Monday evening along the Raja-Wau road, according to police.

First Lieutenant Joseph Dominic told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that the incident took place when an ambulance belonging to Khor Milem Hospital in Raja County collided with a taxi carrying passengers.

Among the injured is Dr. Yasser Piajo, the medical director of Khor Milem Hospital.

“About 11 people including Dr. Yasser Piajo were seriously wounded, who were taken to Raja Hospital for treatment,” Dominic said.

Dominic said the wounded will be transferred to Wau Teaching Hospital for treatment.
