Western Equatoria State Caretaker Governor Badagbu Daniel Rimbasa has appointed 10 caretaker county commissioners to run the administration of the state’s counties, according to a gubernatorial decree on Sunday.
The decree said the appointments were made under powers granted by Republican Decree No. 33/2026, issued by President Salva Kiir on Sept. 22, and in accordance with Article 99 (2) (a) of the Transitional Constitution of Western Equatoria State, 2011, as amended in 2015.
The new commissioners are Modi Enosa Mbaraza for Yambio County, Tito Amos Nganzi for Ibba County, James Mupaya Kparivuru for Tambura County, Daniel Owudada Gnandi for Maridi County and Stephen Alipayo Clement for Mvolo County.
Matthew Daite Bakiet was appointed commissioner for Mundri East County, while Charles January Clement was appointed for Mundri West County. Henry Agia Zinaro will oversee Ezo County, Robert Raphael Mandri will oversee Nzara County and Charles Gambori will oversee Nagero County.
The appointments follow President Salva Kiir’s Sept. 22 dissolution of the transitional unity government, after which he appointed caretaker officials at the national and state levels.
