Upper Nile governor removes Melut commissioner and mayor

The governor of South Sudan’s Upper Nile state Simon Kun Puoc issued a decree removing the Melut County Commissioner Puoc Teng Diing from office with effect from 22 April 2014.

He also issued another decree pointing Gat Guangdong as Longchuk County Commissioner with effect from 22 April 2014.

After removing Commissioner, Teng Diing, the governor issued another decree appointing his successor, Dau Goc Ayuel.

Governor Simon Kun also issued a decision dismissing the mayor of Malakal municipality without post-service benefits.

The governor gave no reasons for the removal of the state officials, which was announced by South Sudan Radio yesterday.
