Sudan’s Civil Democratic Alliance for Revolutionary Forces (Somoud), a civilian political alliance formed in February 2025 after a split within the Tagaddum coalition, has hired a US consultancy to provide strategic advice, media relations and government affairs services.
Somoud is headed by former Sudanese Prime Minister Dr. Abdalla Hamdok.
The filing under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) seen by Radio Tamazuj shows that GlobalPoint International registered on 18 September 2026 to represent Dabaiwa Media Network Limited, which has an address in Nairobi.
The filing describes Dabaiwa as a Sudanese corporation acting on behalf of Sudan’s Democratic Civilian Forces, identified in the engagement documents as Somoud.
Hamdok is currently in New York with a Somoud delegation attending meetings on Sudan on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. The delegation has been meeting US and international officials as part of efforts to push for an end to the war and a political process.
The agreement between Dabaiwa and GlobalPoint, dated 9 September, covers strategic advice, media relations and government affairs services from 1 September 2026 to 28 February 2027.
The contract provides for an initial payment of $80,000, with total service fees of $160,000, excluding expenses and compliance and registration fees.
According to the filing, GlobalPoint will seek to present Somoud as a credible democratic alternative and strengthen its relationships with US and international policymakers.
Its work will include developing political and communications messaging, preparing briefing materials and leadership profiles, and engaging US government officials, members of Congress, think tanks and media organisations.
The consultancy says it plans to engage officials at the White House, State Department and National Security Council, as well as members of Congress.
The contract also provides for media outreach, including efforts to secure opinion articles and interviews, and engagement with think tanks, academic institutions and other organisations.
The FARA filing records the activities as political activities under US law, including lobbying, public relations and the preparation and distribution of information.
It also records an $80,000 payment from Dabaiwa Media Network Limited to GlobalPoint on 3 September for services covering the period from 1 September to 30 November 2026.
The contract states that Dabaiwa is engaging GlobalPoint on behalf of Somoud and that the client has certified that the funds will not originate from an undisclosed foreign government or organisation, a sanctioned entity or an illicit source.
