More than thirty thousand people have been displaced by the recent attacks by war planes on civilians in Unity State’s Panyijiar County, a local official said.

According to Michael Marial Kel, the Deputy Coordinator of the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) in Panyijiar County, the displaced individuals are in urgent need of humanitarian aid. He described their condition as worsening.

“The recent bombardment in Panyijiar County displaced over 39,000 residents from Pachiejok, Pachak, and Pachar areas. Most of them are the elderly and children,” he said. “I request humanitarian partners to assist these people; they can quickly gather any assistance, and they can make an urgent intervention.”

Meanwhile, a resident of Pachar, Mabil Latjor Peter, told this publication on Sunday that he was forced to flee to Panyijiar headquarters last week.

“We are displaced from our homes, and we left everything in the houses due to aerial bombardment. We did not come with anything, and we ran with our children to safety to survive,” he lamented. “As we speak, we lack drugs, food, and water, and our lives are very difficult.”

Another displaced person, Nyaluke Michael Puok, said they had to leave Pachak for Panyijiar Town after being forced to leave Pachiejok for Pachak last week.

“I am a mother of three children, but these days there is no food to feed them because there is nowhere to work because we have been displaced,” she stated.
