President Salva Kiir on Thursday fired the governor of Upper Nile State and replaced several SPLM-IO members in the Transitional National Legislative Assembly (TNLA), Council of States, and other officials in several states.

In presidential decrees read on the South Sudan Broadcasting Cooperation (SSBC) on Thursday night, President Kiir relieved Upper Nile Governor Budhok Ayang Anei Kur and replaced him with James Odok Oyai.

In the TNLA, Kiir revoked the appointments of Jesus Deng Atem from Jonglei State and Jok Alor Bulabek from the Abyei Special Administrative Area and replaced them with Angok Bol Deng and Amin Kiir Dhel respectively.

The president also revoked the appointment of Sisto Majikwa and appointed Khamis Simon Dobori to the Council of States. He also appointed Henry Lavirk Liwa Dongoro who replaced the late Lavirk Liwa Dongoro  

In Unity State, Kiir relieved Yohanis Kwejek Rwot as Advisor for Gender, Child and Social Welfare, James Tungwar Rwach Dhieu, Minister of Animal Resources Fisheries and Tourism, James Gatluak Wicharnyak, Commissioner of Rubkona County, and Charles Reek Wal Chairperson of Anticorruption Commission.

He appointed Lony Majiel Ket, Minister of Animal Resources Fisheries and Tourism, Dhol Koriom Liling, Commissioner of Rubkona County, and Kuo Majok Pei Thon, as Chairperson of the Anticorruption Commission.

In Lakes State, the president appointed Bol Agok Agot commissioner of Yirol West County following the resignation of Andrew Achieng Anihem Mahom on 14 April 2022. The chairperson for the Employees Justice Chamber, Majur John Deng was sacked and replaced by Lino Akum Ngor.

In Eastern Equatoria State, Kiir revoked the appointment of Karlo Peter Lolip and John Lokale Lomodo and appointed Barnabas Loleng Lotumo and Joel Nanok Nanakuro to the Eastern Equatoria State Transitional Legislative Assembly.  

In Western Bahr el Ghazal State, Kiir fired Hilary Claudio Musa, state advisor for peace and security, and replaced him with Marko Peter Achor.  He also revoked the appointment of Maria Levino Ukanga and replaced her with Edmund John Rafael Master in the western Bahr el Ghazal State Parliament.

No reasons were given for the changes.
