The caretaker governor of Lakes State, Gen. Rin Tueny Mabor, on Monday issued gubernatorial decrees for the appointment of officials to the executive, including advisors, ministers, and commissioners, among others.
The governor’s decree stated that all appointees are directed by President Salva Kiir to act impartially and not use public resources for electoral leverage.
The decree also directed appointees to cooperate with the state leadership to deliver peaceful campaigns, ensure candidate protection, and ensure free and fair elections. The appointees were directed to report to the state headquarters in Rumbek for swearing-in on Wednesday, 14 October.
