Sudanese security impose trade restrictions in Dilling

Citizens in Diling Locality in Sudan’s South Kordofan State are reporting an economic ‘blockade’ owing to trade restrictions imposed by the local authorities in the market.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday, citizens at Samasim, Kurgul and other Nuba Mountains territories said they were experiencing restrictions by the security services in the market over the last three days.

The restrictions are aimed at preventing buyers or traders from taking goods across the front line to the Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North.

“Since three days ago, the citizens suffered a lot when the security totally banned the citizens from purchasing foodstuffs in the market, although they had no link with the Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North,” a citizen said.

They called on the authorities to lift the economic embargo so that citizens can return to their normal routines.
