https://www.radiotamazuj.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/58efab85e0c76.jpeg269184Sudan has officially protested to the president of the UN Security Council about the map put forward by African Union mediator Thabo Mbeki, adopted by the Council which it says includes a fifth disputed area, violating the peace agreement of the two countries signed in Kenya. In a letter to the president of the Security Council, Sudan’s permanent representative of the UN Daffa Allah Al Haj Ali said ‘Sudan is protesting against an administrative and security map presented and adopted by the UNSC resolution 2046.’ He said that the map has introduced a fifth disputed area located 14 miles south of Bahr Al Arab on the map seen in South Sudan.’ He added that this contradicts the principle agreed by the countries through the Naivasha peace agreement signed in Kenya in 2005.
