The state minister of agriculture Hon. Angui Diing spoke at the celebration and the federal secretary of agriculture Betty Chan also gave a speech, both stressing the importance of cooperation between the state and national ministries of agriculture, and called upon all attendees to thank the Lord for World Food Day which falls on Oct. 16, and praised the role of citizens of paying attention to agriculture. Additionally, the ministers demanded the rest of the States in South Sudan to step up their role in promoting agriculture. Minister Betty Chan revealed arrangements which will be undertaken by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture to support farmers in some States with agricultural machinery.
