Three civilians were killed by gunmen last Thursday in Sunut region of South Kordofan state. After a cattle theft in the region a group of herders who owned the stolen cattle decided to pursue the rustlers. The thieves however ambushed their pursuers leaving dead three of them, according to sources in the area.  

The victims were Shasha Mohamed Shasha, Nasr Abd Al Ghayim and Jumaa Abbas. The perpetrators reportedly fled the scene after the killing leaving behind the livestock and the dead bodies. The family was able to recover the herd and the bodies.
