The humanitarian situation has worsened for dozens of families displaced from the town of Qaysan in Blue Nile State in Sudan. They fled fighting and are now living under trees in the Khor al-Qana area, east of Wad al-Mahi locality.
According to local estimates, approximately 150 families are living under trees in Khor al-Qana, in extremely difficult conditions, lacking shelter, food, and necessities.
Several displaced people told Radio Tamazuj that their humanitarian situation is rapidly deteriorating due to the lack of necessities. They appealed to humanitarian agencies and organizations to intervene urgently and provide food and shelter.
One displaced person pointed out that their suffering is exacerbated by the lack of shelter, and urgently requested blankets and tarpaulins to protect themselves and their children from the harsh weather. Displaced person Farouk Adam said that displaced families have not received any aid or assistance so far, calling for the urgent provision of relief supplies and necessities.
For her part, displaced person Hafsa Ismail said the humanitarian situation is “extremely dire,” noting that they fled the fighting and left everything behind, only to find themselves now without food or shelter.
The conditions of the displaced in Khor al-Qana reflect the growing humanitarian needs of civilians fleeing the fighting in the Blue Nile region, as the exodus continues in search of safer areas.
