1 killed, 7 missing in Blue Nile attack

One civilian named Musa Mufetish, 27 years old, is said to have been killed recently in Gabbaneit in Blue Nile during an encounter with a militia. Seven others are missing. A group of 17 people who arrived recently at Yusif Batil refugee camp in Upper Nile said that the militia attacked them in Bao region resulting in the death of Musa Mufetish. Seven others fled to an unknown fate and remain missing in the forest. According to survivors, the aggressors were Fellata nomads armed with automatic weapons. Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, they explained that they were originally living in an area of Ingessana Hills controlled by the Sudan Armed Forces. They decided to cross into SPLA territory to Gabbaneit in Bau Locality. There they faced hardship and wanted to continue southward to join family members living in the refugee camps in South Sudan.SPLA-N had advised them not to go because the trek would not be safe. They decided to leave Gabbaneit anyway. The survivors complained of fatigue from spending 11 days on the road from Gabbaneit to Yusif Batil.
